Cómo llegar a serlo

Para ser técnico electricista de centrales y subestaciones eléctricas se necesita más de una titulación. Para cursar los estudios o la formación de este trabajo por lo general se necesita el NCEA Level 2. Requisitos: un New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Introductory) (nivel 2); hacer un programa de aprendizaje en ingeniería eléctrica O un New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Substation Maintenance) (nivel 4) O un New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Power Technician) (nivel 5); un Trainee Limited Certificate o licencia de ejercicio del Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB). Otros requisitos: hacer un curso de formación de técnico en energía o de mantenimiento de subestaciones a través de Transpower GridSkills; licencia de conducir; aprobar una prueba de detección de drogas.
