- 通信機器の研究開発に関わる技術的な支援を行う、または試作品をテストする

- 与えられた仕様に従い、通信機器の製造と設置に必要な材料と労働力の数量と費用を詳しく見積もる
- 十分な性能と、仕様や規則への適合を確保するため、通信システムの製造、利用、保守、修理を技術面で監督する
- 業務の中で生じる問題を特定して解決するため、通信工学の原理と実務の技術的な知識を生かす
