丸太を荒挽き材に製材し、単板を切削し、合板やパーティクルボードをつくるなど、木材を後工程用に加工する製材設備を監視、操作、制御する。
主な業務
- 丸太や荒挽き材の大きさ、状態、品質などを調べて最適な木取りを決める、または自動設備を操作して丸太をレーザースキャナーに通し、最も生産性と収益性の高い木取りを決める
- 丸太の送材装置とコンベヤーを操作し、監視する
- ヘッドソー、リソー、マルチソーを操作、監視し、丸太、角材、背板などを挽き、製材品の荒い耳を除いてさまざまな寸法の仕上げ材にし、こけら板や割り板を挽く、または割る
- 合板の芯板配置機、熱板式合板プレス、単板切削機を操作し、監視する
- 製材設備を清掃し、注油する
