正式名称：Lifeguard

プール、海辺、湖で人々を見守り、水中での安全を守る。溺れかけた人の救助、応急手当、水の安全指導を行うこともある。

なるには

ライフガードになるには研修を受ける必要がある。この仕事には通常、特定のNCEAのレベルは必要ない。必須：14歳以上であること、プールライフガード業務証明書、応急処置の資格、警察の身元照会に通ること、サーフライフガード認定試験に合格すること。その他の要件：サーフライフガードクラブへの加入、200メートルを6分以内で泳げること、毎シーズン再確認テストを受けること。
