How to become a Public Prosecutors Office Assistant Officer
Assists public prosecutors or works under their direction on the whole criminal process, from investigating crimes to court proceedings and carrying out sentences, and also handles general affairs, personnel and accounts.

How to become one
These officers are national public servants in the Public Prosecutors Office, a special body of the Ministry of Justice. You sit the National Personnel Authority's general national public service exam (university graduate level or high school graduate level), and from those who pass, you are hired as a prosecutor's assistant officer after an interview with a district public prosecutors office. Training takes place at the Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice and its branches at 8 locations around the country. Following a carefully planned curriculum to develop prosecution specialists, prosecutors and others teach practical courses. These include an introductory course for new staff to learn the basic knowledge and skills needed in a prosecutors office, an intermediate course for mid-career staff to learn what they need as prosecutors' partners and improve their investigation and trial skills, and an advanced course to gain specialist knowledge and skills and a high level of practical ability. Officers are placed in investigation and trial sections, prosecution affairs sections and secretariat sections, gain varied experience by moving between them, and are promoted to higher posts such as investigator, specialist officer and section manager. After meeting certain eligibility requirements, you can also become an assistant prosecutor or a prosecutor by passing an exam.
