Paves roads with asphalt or concrete on road works sites, puts up signs and paints lines on the road.
How to become one
No particular education or qualifications are needed to start. Some people start straight from school, some change from other industries, and some farmers work as seasonal workers during the off-season. New starters generally become fully skilled through on-the-job training on site. The work involves long periods of standing, so a reasonable level of fitness and endurance are needed. In some settings you may have to work surrounded by dangerous machines, so care and attentiveness are needed too.
