Some people become teachers straight after graduating, while others move into teaching from business or as specialists in a particular field, drawing on their work experience. The skills and knowledge needed differ by field, but many schools aim for their students to gain job qualifications, so you need to keep up with the latest developments in your field and be able to guide students towards those goals.
