Dental aide/assistant performs limited clinical duties under the direction of a dentist, including equipment preparation and sterilisation, preparing patients for treatment, assisting the dentist during treatment, and providing patients with instructions for oral healthcare procedures. He/she may perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
Main tasks
- Providing care, support and treatment to patients and residents of medical, rehabilitative and residential care facilities as per treatment plans established by medical, nursing and other health professionals
