Electrical fitter fits, adjusts, assembles and repairs various kinds of electrical machinery and electrical apparatus in factory, workshop or place of use. He/she examines wiring and assembly diagrams and other specifications, and checks parts for accuracy of fit and if necessary chisels, files, scrapes and does other supplementary tooling.

- Fitting, adjusting and repairing various kinds of electrical machinery and motors, generators, switchgear and control apparatus, instruments, or electrical parts of elevators and related equipment
- Fitting, adjusting and repairing electrical parts in domestic appliances, industrial machines and other appliances
- Inspecting and testing manufactured electrical products
- Installing, testing, connecting, commissioning, maintaining and modifying electrical equipment, wiring and control systems
- Connecting electrical systems to power supply
- Replacing and repairing defective parts
How to become one
Electrical fitter typically possesses an electrical installation licence from the Energy Market Authority (EMA) or its equivalent.
