Fire and safety inspector enforces the rules and regulations relating to fire prevention and other hazards and occupational safety. He/she detects and eliminates or reduces fire hazards in industrial plants and other establishments by using instruments and conducting special tests to determine the conditions.
Main tasks
- Ensuring that buildings and other structures comply with approved building plans, grading and zoning laws and fire regulations
- Advising on and inspecting fire-prevention systems
- Investigating fire sites to determine cause of fire
- Inspecting industrial and other enterprises on the grounds of occupational safety
