Industrial relations officer works with union leaders and members and company’s human resource team and management to maintain and improve the welfare of workers. He/she resolves workplace disputes and assists in negotiating collective agreements with unions and management for the workers. He/she also plans and organises membership and social activities. He/she represents workers who do not have the ability to defend their rights as employees.
