Mechanical equipment/component assembler assembles, according to procedures strictly laid down, component parts of mechanical machinery such as engines, motor vehicles, turbines and aircraft.
Main tasks
- Assembling and installing pre-fabricated parts or components to form sub-assemblies, mechanical machinery, engines and finished motor vehicles
- Reviewing work orders, specifications, diagrams and drawings to determine materials needed and assembly instructions
- Recording production and operational data on specified forms
- Inspecting and testing completed components and assemblies
- Rejecting faulty assemblies and components
