Port equipment engineer develops and oversees maintenance regimes for port equipment. He/she ensures that maintenance works are carried out swiftly and in accordance with regulatory requirements to minimise disruptions to port operations. He/she also reviews the relevance and functionality of port equipment to meet changing business demands, and researches on ways to improve operational, safety and environmental standards.
Main tasks
- Establishing control standards and procedures to ensure efficient functioning and safety of machines, machinery, tools, motors, engines, industrial plant, equipment, or systems
- Ensuring that equipment, operation and maintenance comply with design specifications and safety standards
