Official title: Ticket inspector
Ticket inspector checks tickets of passengers on board a moving train or bus within designated areas. He/she makes surprise checks of tickets issued to passengers, ensures proper fare has been paid and that tickets are issued. He/she also reports fare irregularities for disciplinary action.
Main tasks
- Collecting and issuing tickets, passes or fares, and checking the validity of tickets issued previously
- Ensuring that safety regulations are respected
- Responding to passengers’ requests and complaints and providing information about stops and connections
