Researches, appraises, preserves and manages archives and cultural artefacts.
Main tasks
- Research, appraise, organise and preserve documents of historical value, such as papers, photographs, maps, manuscripts and audiovisual material
- Direct or create indexes, catalogues and related tools to help collect material and help users find it
- Research the origin, distribution and use of historical and cultural artefacts and materials
- Direct the classification, cataloguing and display of artistic, cultural, scientific or historical exhibits and collections
- Appraise, preserve and manage records, and plan and carry out computerised archive management
