Food and related products machine operators operate machines for food processing, food and beverage manufacturing, animal feed manufacturing, and tobacco leaf processing and tobacco products manufacturing.
Main tasks
- Operate machines to slaughter animals and cut meat and fish into pieces to specification
- Operate machines and ovens to mix, bake or otherwise make bread, flour and confectionery products
- Operate machines to crush, mix, malt, cook and ferment grain and fruit to make beer, wine, malt liquors, vinegar, yeast and related products
- Operate equipment to make jam, cheese, processed cheese, margarine, syrup, ices, dough, ice cream, sausages, chocolate, corn syrup, edible fats and dextrin
- Operate equipment to cool, heat, dry, roast, blanch, pasteurise, smoke, sterilise, freeze, evaporate and concentrate food and drinks for processing
- Operate mixing, extruding, grinding and filtering equipment to blend, pulp, grind and separate food and drinks
- Process tobacco leaf by machine into cigarettes, cigars, cut tobacco and other tobacco products
