Poultry farmers breed, raise and care for poultry such as chickens, ducks and geese for meat, eggs, feathers, skins and other products.
Main tasks
- Decide which poultry to raise and in what numbers
- Breed, raise and care for birds and collect their products
- Monitor and examine poultry for injury or disease and check their health, such as changes in weight
- Work out quantities of feed, supplements or medicines according to the birds' nutritional needs and health
