How to become a Printer
Official title: Printers
Printers set up and operate digital, letterpress, lithographic, flexographic, gravure, newspaper and other printing presses.
Main tasks
- Set up, adjust and monitor feeders, delivery units, inking systems and other press operations
- Mix inks and solvents to standard, and regulate paper and ink flow during printing
- Produce printed products systematically using letterpress, lithographic, flexographic, gravure and in-line presses
- Produce digital print images and transfer and output them
- Cut stencils for screen printing
- Print designs on paper, metal, fabric or other materials by screen printing
- Print designs on cloth and wallpaper using engraved wood blocks or machines with engraved rollers
