Official title: Restaurant Managers
Plans, directs, coordinates and oversees the operation of restaurants, bars, cafes and similar venues. Catering service managers are also included.
Main tasks
- Plan menus with chefs and cooks, arrange purchasing and pricing within budget, and assess customer satisfaction with meals and service
- Plan and arrange special functions
- Keep records of food stock and financial transactions
- Make sure dining, kitchen and food storage areas meet hygiene rules
- Select, schedule, train and supervise food service and kitchen staff
