Coaches athletes in competitive skills, referees sporting events, and leads groups or individuals in recreation, fitness or outdoor adventure activities.
Main tasks
- Set training plans and strategies; arrange and coordinate competition schedules and coach athletes
- Referee sporting events and make sure competitors follow the rules and stay safe
- Teach recreation and fitness skills
- Explain equipment procedures and rules to keep activities safe, and give first aid when needed
- Assess participants' ability and fitness and recommend suitable activities
