Assists veterinarians in diagnosing, preventing, advising on and treating disease and injury in animals.
Main tasks
- Help veterinarians perform surgery on animals
- Take samples from animals and carry out other laboratory tests to help diagnose animal health problems
- Clean and disinfect examination tables and equipment, and prepare instruments for examining and treating animals
- Care for animals being treated in veterinary hospitals
- Carry out techniques for artificial insemination of animals
