Woodworking machine tool setters and operators set up and operate automatic or semi-automatic woodworking machines, such as precision sawing, shaping, planing, boring, bending and carving machines, to make or repair wooden furniture parts, fittings and other wood products.
Main tasks
- Set up, adjust, operate and monitor woodworking machines to saw, shape, bore, plane, press, bend, sand or carve wooden furniture parts, fittings and other wood products
- Operate and preset special-purpose woodworking machines to make coat hooks, mop handles, clothes pegs and other wooden products
- Select knives, saws, blades, cutter heads, cams, bits or belts according to the workpiece, machine functions and product specifications
- Install and adjust blades, cutter heads, bits and sanding belts using hand tools and measuring instruments
