铁路施工和养护工人铺设、重铺、修理和检查铁路轨道，并养护周边区域。
主要任务
- 沿轨道巡查，目视检查钢轨、螺栓、鱼尾板和轨枕座有无变形或断裂
- 检查螺栓和楔子是否紧固，更换损坏的轨枕座，必要时重新捣固轨枕下的道砟
- 为道岔加油润滑，检查围栏、排水沟、涵洞和路堤，并进行必要的养护
- 摊铺道砟，按规定间距铺设轨枕或钢垫板
- 放置钢轨、道岔和渡线，并用螺栓、木楔或扣件固定钢轨
- 用螺栓将鱼尾板固定在钢轨上，连接各段钢轨
