How to become an Auxiliary Police Officer
Official Chinese title (2022 occupational classification): 辅警
Is not a sworn police officer, but gives direct help, support and backup to police work under police leadership or command.
Main tasks
- Doing administrative work under police leadership, such as clerical help, records management, phone enquiries, counter service, issuing documents and data entry
- Giving technical support under police leadership, such as counselling, medical care, translation, network maintenance, data analysis, software development, security monitoring, financial analysis, communications, non classified finance work, scene examination, laboratory analysis and forensic testing
- Keeping and maintaining police equipment and providing logistics and other support under police leadership
- Helping prevent and stop crime under police leadership
- Joining patrols and checks under police leadership and carrying out security checks in crowded places
- Helping question, intercept, watch and guard suspects under police leadership
- Running crime prevention, entry and exit services, border checks, detention centre duties and road safety and anti drug education under police leadership
