Operates industrial and building boilers and their auxiliary equipment to produce steam or other heating media.
Main tasks
- Starting, stopping and setting up industrial and building boilers
- Monitoring, operating and controlling boilers
- Feeding water, thermal oil and other media, fuels such as coal, oil and gas, and air into boilers with equipment or tools
- Sending steam, hot water or thermal oil to users with equipment or tools, venting flue gas and boiler blowdown, and clearing ash and slag
- Patrolling boiler equipment and dealing with problems and faults
- Monitoring and analysing boiler water or media and treating it with treatment equipment or chemical dosing
- Repairing and maintaining boilers and auxiliary equipment
- Recording boiler setup, operation, water treatment, repairs and maintenance
