How to become a Capacitor Maker
Official Chinese title (2022 occupational classification): 电容器制造工
Also called: Film Capacitor Paper and Film Cutter, Film Capacitor Metalliser, Film Capacitor Assembler, Mica Capacitor Maker, Ceramic Capacitor Maker, Aluminium Foil Etching and Oxidation Worker, Tantalum Capacitor Forming and Sintering Worker, Tantalum Capacitor Formation and Coating Worker, Electrolytic Capacitor Assembler, Variable Capacitor Assembler
Uses equipment and tooling such as cutting and forming machines to make fixed and variable capacitors with many kinds of dielectric.
Main tasks
- Cutting capacitor paper, lacquer film, plastic film, metal foil, metallised dielectric and insulating materials on cutting machines
- Coating paper, film and other dielectrics with a thin metal layer using deposition or vacuum evaporation equipment
- Making electrodes on mica sheets with silver printing and similar equipment
- Making metallised electrodes on the ends of ceramic parts with specialist equipment
- Winding capacitor paper and electrode foil into cores with tabs or leads on winding equipment
- Assembling cores and parts into mica, ceramic or film capacitors with tooling and instruments
- Treating aluminium foil with etching, annealing and forming equipment to grow an oxide layer on the surface
- Pressing tantalum powder and wire into shape on forming machines and sintering them into tantalum pellets in vacuum furnaces
- Growing an oxide layer on tantalum pellets in forming tanks to make the anode, then building a manganese dioxide cathode layer on the oxide
- Assembling cores, parts and electrolyte into electrolytic capacitors with equipment, jigs and instruments
- Assembling and adjusting variable capacitors, using spin riveters, high frequency furnaces, instruments and jigs
- Ageing and testing capacitors with test equipment and instruments
