How to become an Electronics Assembler
Official Chinese title (2022 occupational classification): 电子设备装接工
Also called: Hand Soldering Electronics Assembler, Wave Soldering Electronics Assembler, Surface Mount Electronics Assembler
Uses equipment such as wave soldering machines, solder pots, automatic insertion machines, reflow ovens and surface mount lines, and tools such as wire strippers, soldering irons and crimpers, to connect and assemble electronic equipment and its parts and modules.
Main tasks
- Drawing harness layout boards with rulers, needle nose pliers and other tools, cutting wires or cables, preparing ends and tying harnesses
- Stripping and tinning wire ends with wire strippers, solder pots and other tools and equipment
- Forming component leads and tinning them to remove gold with solder pots and other equipment and tools
- Inserting components into printed circuit boards or substrates by automatic insertion machine or by hand
- Soldering components and wires with wave or dip soldering equipment or soldering irons
- Crimping or wire wrapping connections with crimp tools, wrapping guns and similar tools
- Assembling modules, parts and complete units
- Surface mounting and soldering components on printed circuit boards
- Reworking bad solder joints or replacing components with soldering irons, rework stations and so on
