Chooses raw materials and operates processing equipment to grind, mix, pellet or ferment them into animal feed and fodder products.
Main tasks
- Checking raw materials and additives, labelling them and recording stock in and out
- Operating equipment to clean, convey and load raw materials into bins and grinding some of them
- Weighing raw materials and additives to the formula with batching scales and mixing or premixing them into mash feed
- Operating conditioning, pelleting, drying and crumbling equipment to make mash into shaped feed
- Operating central control systems to control and monitor production
- Testing the quality of finished feed
- Maintaining feed machinery day to day
