Prepares land and plants forests with farm and forestry machinery, replants logged areas, and fills gaps in and tends young forest.

- Clearing planting sites and preparing land in strips or patches

- Loosening soil, weeding, fertilising and controlling common pests, diseases and damage from birds and animals

- Cutting firebreaks and forest tracks and helping fight forest fires
