Draws glass into fibre, then weaves it into cloth and tape or makes it into mat, paper and other products, and finishes them.
Main tasks
- Making and checking platinum alloy bushings or crucibles
- Drawing molten glass into strands with fibre drawing machines
- Unwinding, plying, twisting and warping glass fibre
- Weaving glass fibre cloth or tape
- Needling, stitching and laying yarn on 3D weaving machines to make three dimensional products
- Producing glass fibre mat, glass fibre paper and other nonwovens
- Mixing treatment agents and surface treating glass fibre products
- Maintaining equipment and clearing faults that arise during operation
