Operates lime kilns to burn limestone or dolomite into lime.

Main tasks

Crushing, screening or washing raw materials and preparing fuel
Setting the ratio of raw material to fuel, charging the kiln and lighting it
Controlling air pressure, air flow and temperature for high temperature burning
Drawing the burnt lime out of the kiln
Checking burning quality by eye or by slaking test
Maintaining equipment, clearing faults and keeping production records
