Manages a ship's machinery, electronic and electrical equipment and communications equipment, and directs and coordinates the engine department.
Main tasks
- Operating, servicing and repairing the ship's machinery, electronic and electrical, radio communications, local network and emergency equipment
- Planning bunkering, fresh water and consumption, and checking stocks of fuel and boiler water
- Looking after engine room equipment and organising crew training and drills
