Official Chinese title (2022 occupational classification): 医保经办专业人员
Works under the law at medical insurance agencies and similar bodies, setting and carrying out the rules for enrolment, entitlements, benefit payments, fund management and checking and auditing claims.
Main tasks
- Setting administrative rules, processes and procedures for medical insurance and medical assistance and seeing them followed
- Managing agreements with approved medical providers and overseeing how they are kept
- Auditing medical insurance spending, running internal controls and preventing risk
- Preparing medical insurance fund budgets and final accounts and assessing results
- Checking and settling bills between medical insurance and medical and pharmacy providers
- Monitoring and forecasting how the medical insurance fund is running and giving early warnings
- Grouping and classifying illnesses by payment method and putting this into practice
- Handling and managing settlement for treatment received in another region
- Transferring members' medical insurance between schemes and managing their entitlements
