Uses hand, power and special tools to prepare electrical components and assemble, install and commission electrical power equipment.
Main tasks
- Dismantling, checking, testing and assembling electrical equipment
- Installing and commissioning electrical and auxiliary equipment
- Making up busbars
- Laying and terminating cables
- Running each part first, then starting the whole system, and finally commissioning it under load
- Installing lighting circuits, low voltage power circuits and other power and control equipment
- Checking, installing and adjusting high and low voltage station switchboards
- Building and testing earthing grids
- Recording equipment checks, tests and trial runs
