Analyses how big production safety risks are, predicts how far an accident's effects would reach, estimates the harm and sets preventive measures.

- Collecting case material and writing plans for identifying and analysing hazards
- Surveying, measuring and identifying hazards on site, analysing them and pinpointing sources of danger
- Calculating risk and predicting where, why and how far an accident could happen and how much harm it would do
