How to become a Scaffolder
Official Chinese title (2022 occupational classification): 架子工
Also called: General Scaffolder, Climbing Scaffold Installer, Suspended Platform Installer, Suspended Platform Operator
Uses fitting and maintenance tools to put up, maintain and take down working scaffolds, protective scaffolds, support structures and suspended work platforms on building sites.
Main tasks
- Putting up and taking down working scaffolds, protective scaffolds, support structures and so on with fitting tools
- Hanging and removing safety nets with fitting tools
- Installing, raising and lowering, maintaining and dismantling climbing scaffolds
- Suspended work platforms: installing, operating, maintaining and dismantling them
- Protective structures for material hoists: putting up, maintaining and taking them down
- Checking scaffolds and equipment with inspection tools and stacking and protecting materials and parts by type
