Keeps the record on a film or TV set.
Main tasks
- Using their knowledge of film language to record each shot's number (scene and shot), location, mood, content, camera approach, length and the director's comments
- Recording the special artistic choices and improvisations made by the director and lead creatives during filming
- Recording and checking the set, props, and the actors' costumes, looks and special effects make up for each scene
- Recording and checking actors' dialogue and keeping the script up to date
- Recording each day's filming hours, progress and use of extras in a production report
- Organising continuity notes as material for editing, dubbing and film processing
