- Washing, acetalising, crimping, heat setting, oiling and dewatering fibre
- Drying fibre
- Drawing, winding onto packages, texturing and cutting
- Twisting yarn
- Baling finished products
- Keeping an eye on equipment and the process, clearing production faults and filling in records
- Recovering waste fibre, liquids and materials
