How to become a Treasury Operations Specialist

Handles the business of the central and local state treasuries.
Main tasks
- Setting policies and rules for agency treasury work and seeing them carried out
- Opening single treasury accounts for finance departments, handling the collection, division and transfer of budget funds as well as refunds and payments, preparing accounting reports, analysing treasury income and spending figures, and promoting treasury information systems such as the link between finance, tax, treasury and banks
- Making sure collecting bodies such as finance, tax and customs, and treasury collection points, pay what they receive into the treasury promptly and in full, and coordinating work between departments
- Handling treasury cash management
- Issuing and redeeming government bonds through financial institutions on behalf of the finance ministry, helping to plan the issue of government bonds and drafting the related rules
- Organising and overseeing how financial institutions issue, underwrite, redeem and protect government bonds against forgery
- Applying treasury management rules and tightening review and oversight when handling budget income and spending
- Overseeing the opening of accounts for government deposits and checking the treasury business banks and other financial institutions handle on its behalf
