手作業で、または乾燥窯やタンクなどの木材処理設備を用いて、木材を乾燥、防腐処理する。
主な業務
- 乾燥窯、処理タンクなどの設備を操作し、木材を乾燥させ、木材や木製品を整えて乾燥し、防腐剤を含浸させる
- 設備の稼働状況、計器、表示灯を監視し、基準からのずれを見つけ、工程が仕様どおりに進むようにする
- バルブを操作して処理液を処理槽に入れ、処理サイクルの各段階で指定の温度、真空度、水圧、液量を保つ
- 真空ポンプと水圧ポンプを作動させ、レトルトから空気と蒸気を抜き、処理液を木材の細孔に押し込んで処理を早める
- 必要に応じて処理設備や機械の保守を手伝う
- 設備を清掃し、注油し、調整する
- 手作業や台車、ハンドトラック、ホイストで材料や製品を作業場に出し入れする
- 生産報告書を作成し、管理する
