- 家具、造作などの木製品の部品を製作、補修するため、のこ引き、成形、中ぐり、穴あけ、平削り、プレス、旋削、研磨、彫刻を行う各種木工機械を段取りし、プログラムを設定して操作、監視する
- あらかじめ設定された専用の木工機械を操作し、ハンガー、モップの柄、洗濯ばさみなどの木製品をつくる
- 加工材、機械の機能、製品仕様に応じて、刃物、のこ、ブレード、カッターヘッド、カム、ビット、ベルトを選ぶ
- 手工具や定規を用いて、ブレード、カッターヘッド、中ぐりビット、研磨ベルトを取り付け、調整する
- 他の作業員が使う各種木工機械を設定し、調整する
- 仕様書を読み取る、または口頭の指示に従う
