How to become a Care Services Administration Clerk
Also called: Long-term care insurance clerk, Care insurance claims clerk
Handles all the office work of a care facility, centred on claiming payments for care services from long-term care insurance.

How to become one
No particular education or qualification is required to start. You use billing software, so being comfortable with computers is an advantage when looking for work. After joining, there is induction training such as basic training for each service, manners training and training on the organisation's values (*1). Once you have mastered the billing software, you can do the job within about six months. There are several private qualifications in care billing, but none is compulsory. Some people move up from part-time or contract work to permanent positions, and at large organisations some move from a facility to head office. This is basically an office job, so you need administrative skills including workplace manners and common sense, communication skills for dealing with visitors and phone calls, and above all the computer knowledge and skills to use billing software well.
