Head butler (hotel and related establishment) oversees all aspects of the butler department, including capability development and people management. He/she coordinates and monitors butler tasks to ensure caring, thoughtful and dedicated personalised service is provided at all times in accordance with organisational procedures. He/she trains butlers in their performance and work related activities, conducts regular inspections of all butler areas including occupied and non-occupied rooms and works with other operating departments, notably the front office, to manage VIP guest/customer requests.
