Plans, directs, coordinates and oversees advertising and public relations in a business or organisation. Managers of businesses providing these services to other organisations are also included.
Main tasks
- Plan, direct and coordinate advertising and public relations activities
- Negotiate advertising contracts with clients, newspapers, radio and television stations, sporting and cultural organisations, and advertising agencies
- Plan and manage campaigns that promote the organisation's image, plans and achievements
- Control budgets and spending and make sure resources are used efficiently
- Set and direct operational and administrative procedures
- Oversee the selection, training and performance of staff
