How to become an Early Childhood Educator
Official title: Early Childhood Educators
Supports preschool children's language, social, science, physical and emotional development through teaching, play and other activities.
Main tasks
- Plan and organise activities such as drama, music, art, storytelling, role play, songs and rhymes to build preschool children's language, motor skills, social skills, confidence, understanding and creativity
- Watch for and observe problems with children's development, emotions and health, and discuss them with parents and other early childhood staff when needed
- Guide and help children to develop good habits in eating, dressing and hygiene, and supervise their daily activities to keep them safe
- Observe and assess children's nutrition, health, welfare and safety needs, and identify factors that hold back their development
