Official title: Environmental Protection Professionals
Studies and assesses the effects of human activity on ecosystems and the environment, and draws up plans and solutions for environmental protection, conservation and restoration, and pollution control.
Main tasks
- Carry out site surveys, collect samples and run laboratory analyses to find the source of environmental problems, and recommend ways to prevent, control and repair environmental damage
- Analyse the environmental effects of human activities, plans and developments, and assess whether a development is necessary
- Develop and improve environmental management systems to monitor environmental impacts
- Assess the environmental effects of human activities, industrial processes, waste and noise
- Review organisations' environmental policies and plans against government regulations, identify breaches and recommend improvements
