How to become a Financial and Investment Adviser
Official title: Financial and Investment Advisers
Plans financial and investment strategies for individuals and organisations, provides investment analysis and advice, and invests and manages funds on clients' behalf.
Main tasks
- Interview clients to understand their financial position, goals and risk tolerance, and help them draw up financial plans and investment strategies
- Give clients information on shares, bonds, futures, market conditions, investment prospects and financial positions, and recommend portfolios
- Keep track of investment performance and review and revise investment plans as markets and the economy change
- Keep up with industry and economic news, and watch factors that affect investment plans, such as future trends in prices, output, stability and investment risk
- Give spoken and written reports on the overall economy, individual companies and whole industries
