How to become a Social Work Associate Professional
Official title: Social Work Associate Professionals
Helps individuals, families and communities solve social problems, guides young people to prevent offending, helps people with disabilities adapt socially, and leads social, recreational and educational activities for individuals and groups.
Main tasks
- Help people with disabilities and older people get welfare services to improve how they cope socially
- Help clients get legal, medical, financial, housing, employment and transport support, and provide services such as relocation, day care and other referrals
- Counsel residents of halfway houses, supervise their activities and help them return to normal life
- Provide crisis support and emergency shelter for victims
- Help run life skills training, drug abuse prevention, behaviour management, youth service and other community and social service programmes under the supervision of social work or health professionals
