Assists with telecommunications engineering research and carries out technical work testing, operating and maintaining telecommunications systems.
Main tasks
- Provide technical help or test methods for research and development of telecommunications equipment
- Study telecommunications engineering plans, drawings and technical data to decide how to carry out work
- Prepare detailed estimates of the materials and labour costs needed to make and install telecommunications equipment from specifications
- Test, operate and maintain telecommunications systems
- Apply telecommunications engineering knowledge and practice to solve problems
