How to become a Court Orderly
Also called: Court Attendant, Court Officer
Provides operational support to a court or registry.
Main tasks
- Assists with the preparation of courtrooms for hearings and trials
- Escorts and supervises defendants, witnesses and jurors within the court premises
- Assists with the administration of oaths and affirmations to witnesses
- Receives, records and files court documents and exhibits
- Operates audiovisual equipment during court proceedings
- Performs general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing and photocopying
